Welcome to this series of tips and strategies for building and maintaining relationships with your students.
Positive student-teacher relationships are, without doubt, one of the most effective behaviour management strategies/teaching tools at your disposal. Why? Well, students are obviously more likely to behave for a teacher they respect, trust and get on well with. (Although we must always maintain professionalism - 'friendly' is ok, 'trying to be their friend' is not).
As well as the strategies, I'm also going to give you the Power Point slides from a recent keynote speech I gave at an exhibition - 'Stepping Stones to Positive Relationships' and I'll also give you a very handy desktop reminder sheet to help you organise all the notes and ideas.
As well as all that, you might like to try my book - 'Connect With Your Students' It's available on Amazon at a very appealing price.
