Why Am I doing This?
That's a fair question. There are TWO reasons actually.
As I've mentioned previously the first reason is simply because I'm trying to get my materials into as many teachers' hands as possible. I want to get my book - Take Control of the Noisy Class - and all my Needs-Focused strategies well known in the education world.
You see, after ten years working in special education I discovered what I believe to be the most reliable system for successfully reaching and teaching reluctant, defiant, oppositional students.
The simple step-by-step methods and strategies I developed totally TRANSFORMED my teaching just as they have done for every teacher I’ve taught (There are now more than 1,000,000 teachers using my materials in schools round the world!!)
And the fact is that I want MORE teachers using these materials because of the good they do. These simple-to-apply ideas and strategies change classrooms for the better. They help teachers CONNECT with hard-to-reach students. They help teachers deal with behaviour issues respectfully and effectively. They help teachers create positive classrooms in which students thrive.
The result of all this is happier, motivated, responsive students who have more chance of reaching their potential AND happier, less-stressed teachers who ENJOY teaching.
In truth, I have tried GIVING AWAY my materials in the past to teachers - but I found that the freebie seekers just seemed to be 'information collectors'. When we checked their user accounts 99% of them hadn't even been opened - let alone read and put into practice! What a waste!
